The Sexual Assault Response Committee (SARC) has been
an active committee in our city for over fifteen years. Its primary purpose is
to provide a voice in the community on the issue of sexual abuse/assault. It is
comprised of over twenty community agencies like Palliser Health Region -
Community Mental Health, ER and Sexual Health, as well as Medicine Hat Family
Service and The Youth Action Society. These community agencies provide services
to victims and their families much like those services that would be found at a
Sexual Assault Centre.
SARC is a member of the Alberta Association of Sexual Assault Centre. AASAC is the provincial governing body that works through its member agencies to ensure that all Albertans have access to services. AASAC’s mission is to provide leadership, coordination and a unified voice on issues of sexual violence while increasing recognition and support for sexual assault centres in Alberta.

Vision
Simply stated: SEXUAL ABUSE – NO MORE

To provide leadership, coordination and a unified voice on the issues of sexual abuse in the Palliser Health Region.
